Senior match Rescheduled
Due to lane issues, the handicap division of Senior Match was cancelled. Arrangements are being made to reschedule this portion of the tournament. More information on the new date and time will be posted when everything has been finalized.
Senior Match Scratch Champion
The scratch division of Senior Match was held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Elks Lodge. Congratulations to Wes Schmitz for winning the 2025 Senior Match Scratch Championship. The tournament got off to a rough start. Bowlers had to deal with the snow and also unexpected lane issues. Because of the unforeseen lane issues, the handicap division of Senior Match was cancelled for the day. The SABA tournament committee is working on rescheduling the Senior Match handicap division. Please check back for updates on the the new date and time. Somehow, someway, 13 bowlers were able to compete in the scratch division. After 4 games of qualifying, Steve Schmit earned the top top seed followed by Bob Kauger and Wes Schmitz. In the step ladder finals, Wes Schmitz was unbeatable and won all of his matches to take home the championship. Congratulations, Wes! Thank you to the Elks Lodge lane mechanics for their efforts in dealing with the lane issues and also to all of the bowlers for their patience and understanding. Association ChampionShip Results
The 2025 SABA Championship has been completed. We would like to thank Odyssey Fun Center in Sheboygan Falls for hosting team event and also like to thank Anchor Lanes in Elkhart Lake for hosting minor events. 48 teams participated in team event and 180 people competed in minor events. Here are the champions in each event.
Team: Globe Lanes and Lakeshore 1 tied for first place with a score of 2932. Globe Lanes team members scratch/handicap scores are: Erik Zukaitis (696/752), John Juhre (695/722), Gus Witte (748/769), Jay Larson (689/689). Lakeshore 1 team members scratch/handicap scores are: Patty Paasch (460/694), Jaime McCoy (604/736), Dave Paasch (727/803), Jason McCoy (675/699).
Team Scratch: Was won by Scott’s Pro Shop 2 with a score of 2831. Team members and scores are: Scott Cavanaugh (670), Cody Schmitt (722), Jeff Shircel (703), Steve De Kerf Jr (736).
Doubles: Tom Scharenbrock and Bob Kauger won both the doubles handicap and scratch division. Their scratch and handicap score was 1492/1626. Tom Scharenbrock (742/836) / Bob Kauguer (750/790).
Singles: Joey Klopf was the singles handicap champion with a scratch/handicap score of (747/801).
Singles Scratch: Cody Krahn was the singles scratch champion with a score of 759.
All Events: Sindey Thao was the All Events champion. Sindey’s scratch and handicap scores were: All Events (1717/2262), Team (608/791), Doubles (585/763), Singles (524/707).
All Events Scratch: Gus Witte was the All Event scratch champion. Gus’s All Events total was 2179, Team (748), Doubles (789), Singles (642).
Senior Singles: Joe Klopf was the senior singles handicap champion with a scratch/handicap score of (722/786).
Senior Singles Scratch: Bob Kauger won the senior singles championship with a score of 754.
Senior All Events: Shelly Zitzer was the senior all events handicap champion score of 2227 Shelly’s scratch and handicap scores were: All Events (1873/2227), Team (598/716), Doubles (634/752), Singles (641/759).
Senior All Events Scratch: Steve Schmit won senor all events scratch. Steves’s all events total was 2167, Team (716), Doubles (753), Singles (698).
Other tournament high scores: Nicole Burt (300 game), Mike Miller (300 games), Jeffrey Winkel (300 game), Steve Schmit (290 game), Pat Sertich (288 game) and Gus Witte (287 game). Gus Witte (789 series), Steve Wheelock (777 series) Verne Heidenreiter (771 series).

Hall of fame point totals
In March of 2024, the Sheboygan Area Bowling Association adopted a Hall of Fame point system. Male bowlers need to earn 150 points and women bowlers need to earn 75 points to be eligible for consideration. Points are earned for high scores, tournament accomplishments, all-star teams and high averages. Hall of Fame point totals for SABA men bowlers has been compiled from association records through August 1, 2024. Click here to view the list.
