Senior Match results
Senior Match was held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Anchor Lanes in Elkhart Lake. 31 bowlers participated in the tournament. Wes Schmitz was the scratch champion and Jody Gabsch was handicap champion! The tournament format consists of 4 games of qualifying with the top bowlers in each division competing in step ladder finals.
Scratch Division – In the scratch division, Steve Hoppert was the top qualifier followed by Wes Schmitz and Jeff Shircel. Wes Schmitz defeated Jeff Shircel in the first match and then defeated the #1 seed Steve Hoppert in the final 2 game match to win the title.
Handicap Division – In the handicap division, 5th place qualifier Pat O’Brien defeated 4th place qualifier Dan Rettagliate. In the second match, Pat O’Brien continued his way up the ladder defeating #3 qualifier Tina Reetz by 2 pins. In match three, 2nd place qualifier Lisa Gottsacker beat Pat O’Brien. And in the championship match Jody Gabsch defeated Lisa Gottsacker to win the Senior Match Handicap Division title.

Association Championship Prize fund
The 2026 SABA Championship featured a record prize fund of $17,420. This milestone was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Larry’s Distributing, along with proceeds from the cash and bowling ball raffles. A total of 215 bowlers participated in this year’s tournament, with 138 competitors finishing in the prize list. Association Championship Results
The 2026 SABA Championship has been completed. We would like to thank Globe Lanes in Random Lake for hosting team event and also like to thank Lakeshore Lanes in Sheboygan for hosting minor events. 62 teams participated in team event and 200 people competed in minor events, both record numbers in the past 10 years. Here are the champions in each event.
Team
Team Diamond Exteriors won first place with a score of 2939. Diamond Exteriors team members scratch/handicap scores are: Scott Cavanaugh (748/748), Brian Miller (728/782), Cody Krahn (686/710), Zach Block (675/699).
The team scratch division was won by Floor Guys with a score of 2871. Team members and scores are: Scott Cavanaugh (657), Kyle Miller (725), Nicole Burt (750), Jesse Burt (739).
Doubles
Jack Parrish and Lee Kapellen won the doubles handicap division. Their scratch and handicap score was (1454/1561). Jack Parrish (719/776) and Lee Kapellen (735/783).
The doubles scratch division was won by the brothers team of Aaron and Ben Cleveland with a score of 1488. Aaron Cleveland (794) and Ben Cleveland (694).
Singles
Steve Ellinger was the singles handicap champion with a scratch/handicap score of (665/810).
Steve De Kerf, Jr was the singles scratch champion with a score of 780.
All Events
The All Events Champion was Lee Kapellen. Lee’s scratch and handicap scores were: All Events (2136/2280), Team (699/747), Doubles (735/783), Singles (702/750).
The All Events scratch champion was Steve De Kerf, Jr. Steve’s All Events total was 2161, Team (681), Doubles (700), Singles (780).
Senior Singles
The ladies did very well in the Senior Singles division. 5 of the top 8 finishers were ladies. Anna Blanke earned the top place and was the handicap champion with a scratch/handicap score of (548/782).
The senior singles scratch champion was Steve Hoppert with a score of 760.
Senior All Events
Jason Eippert was the senior all events handicap champion score of 2198 Jason’s scratch and handicap scores were: All Events (1988/2198), Team (636/706), Doubles (696/766), Singles (656/726).
The Senior All Events scratch champion was Jeff Shircel. Jeff’s all events total was 2146, Team (710), Doubles (679), Singles (757).
